Des Tatler
My path into therapy grew from a deep curiosity about people’s inner worlds and a commitment to creating a space where they feel genuinely seen and understood. Over the past five years, I have supported individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, and emotional overwhelm.
As an attachment-based therapist, I focus on how early experiences and relationships shape the way you think, feel, and relate in the present. When we understand the patterns we developed to cope with our earliest environments, we gain the ability to shift them and move toward healthier, more secure ways of being.
My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. Together, we explore your emotional patterns, make sense of what feels difficult, and develop strategies that support growth, resilience, and self-understanding. This process can help you cultivate greater emotional wellbeing, a stronger sense of identity, and the confidence to navigate life with more clarity and balance.
My work integrates attachment theory, developmental psychology, neuroscience, mentalisation-based approaches, and person-centred experiential techniques. I am also influenced by leading trauma specialists such as Bessel van der Kolk, Gabor Maté, and Janina Fisher, whose research and clinical insights continue to shape my understanding of how people heal.
At the heart of my practice is a belief that with the right support, awareness, and therapeutic connection, meaningful and lasting change is possible.
