Integrative Psychotherapist | Online Therapy in the UK
Trauma, Attachment & Abuse Recovery
Hi, I’m Aly, an integrative psychotherapist and an accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I offer both long-term psychotherapy and short-term counselling to adults, providing a confidential, supportive space to explore difficult experiences and move towards meaningful change.
How I Work
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
-
Attachment-based therapy
-
Psychodynamic therapy
-
Person-centred therapy
-
Existential therapy
Working integratively allows me to tailor therapy to each individual, adapting our work as your needs evolve. There is no “one size fits all” approach — we work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important for you.
Do You Feel Stuck or Overwhelmed?
You might be feeling unable to move forward in your life.
Perhaps struggling with painful thoughts, emotions, or memories that feel overwhelming or unmanageable.
You may even feel broken — though I want you to know that you are not.
Many of the people I work with are seeking relief from long-standing emotional pain and want a future that feels calmer, freer, and more hopeful than their past.
I support clients in finding:
-
Greater clarity and emotional understanding
-
Inner calm and self-compassion
-
A sense of personal agency and freedom
Areas I Specialise In
I specialise in working with survivors of incest, trauma, and abuse, using an approach informed by trauma theory and attachment theory. I also have extensive experience supporting clients with:
-
Childhood trauma and complex trauma
-
Sexual, physical, emotional, and domestic abuse
-
PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
-
Attachment difficulties and relational issues
-
Bereavement and loss
-
Anxiety, low mood, and identity concerns
Professional Background & Experience
I gained my initial therapeutic training with Incest and Sexual Abuse Services, a charitable organisation based in Newark. During this time, I worked with clients presenting a wide range of difficulties, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance misuse, and complex trauma.
Prior to qualifying as a therapist, I worked for 16 years as a Healthcare Assistant in a high secure hospital, gaining extensive experience of mental health conditions and personality disorders. This background has given me a deep understanding of complex psychological distress and the importance of compassionate, boundaried care.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and meaningful life — even though the path towards healing can feel daunting and uncertain.
Each person carries an innate capacity for healing and growth. My role is to help you access that potential, understand your inner world, and gently break free from patterns that no longer serve you.
I also understand how hard it can be to take the first step towards therapy. I’ve been on my own therapeutic journey and know how frightening it can feel at the beginning. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Was it difficult? Yes — and I did it anyway. You can too.
Online Therapy: Flexible, Comfortable & Private
I offer online therapy across the UK, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home or chosen safe space.
Online therapy means:
-
No travel or waiting rooms
-
Greater privacy and discretion
-
Flexibility around work, childcare, and daily life
-
Sessions in a space where you feel most at ease
Comfort is welcome — pyjamas, a warm drink, or a furry companion are absolutely fine if that helps you feel safe and relaxed.
I offer appointments mornings, evenings, and some weekends, making therapy more accessible around your commitments.
