Joanne Kay

Supervisor

I am a dedicated psychotherapeutic counsellor with extensive experience supporting individuals through a wide range of personal and relational challenges. I bring warmth, empathy and a calm, steady presence to my work, helping clients feel safe, understood and supported from the very beginning. My journey into counselling grew from a deep belief in the power of human connection and the transformative change that can happen when we feel truly heard.

Throughout my career, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds, tailoring my approach to meet each person’s unique needs and circumstances. I understand that no two stories are the same, and I offer therapy as a space for self-discovery, healing and personal growth. My work is grounded in compassion and respect, creating an environment where you can reflect, explore and move forward at your own pace.

Alongside my clinical practice, I also mentor and guide other practitioners. Supporting those entering the profession is something I deeply value, and I offer encouragement, insight and reflection based on my own experiences. This blend of counselling and mentorship reflects my commitment not only to my clients but also to the wider counselling community.

Outside of my practice, I value creativity, reflection and balance. Whether through reading, personal growth practices or spending time with loved ones, I embrace the restorative parts of life that keep me grounded. These personal commitments shape the authenticity I bring to my work, allowing me to connect with clients in a genuine and deeply human way.
