Hello, I’m Adele.
I am a qualified counsellor specialising in Attachment-Based Psychotherapy, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work with adults who want to understand themselves more deeply, break free from long-standing patterns, and build more secure, fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
You don’t need any prior knowledge of attachment theory to begin therapy. Many people come to counselling feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why the same patterns keep repeating in their relationships or inner world. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or a sense that something just isn’t quite right.
In our work together, we move at your pace. Therapy offers a supportive space to gently explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional understanding, and the ability to make more conscious choices in your life.
My approach is grounded in attachment-based therapy, a well-established psychological framework that explores how early relationships shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. Often, protective patterns and emotional responses developed in childhood continue into adulthood, influencing your sense of self, your expectations of others, and how safe or secure you feel in relationships.
Through counselling, we begin to notice and make sense of these patterns. This can be particularly helpful if you are struggling with:
- Relationship challenges or recurring conflicts
- Low self-esteem or self-doubt
- Anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional regulation difficulties
- Boundaries and people-pleasing
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
Together, we explore how your past experiences may be shaping your present, allowing space to gently loosen patterns that no longer serve you. Over time, this supports the development of a more secure, grounded, and compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
This work can be especially valuable if you are a trainee counsellor, therapist, or someone engaged in personal or professional development, and looking to deepen your self-awareness alongside your training.
I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental counselling space, where you can explore your inner world openly and honestly. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I practice in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development to ensure safe, ethical, and effective therapy.
