Hi, I’m Andrea, an accredited counsellor offering warm, compassionate and professional therapy for adults.

Life can feel heavy at times, and trying to find the right therapist can feel daunting. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, low in confidence, or aware that certain patterns keep repeating in your life and relationships. Therapy can offer a safe space to pause, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin to move towards change with support.

I am trained and experienced in attachment-based therapy, which means I pay close attention to how early experiences, relationships and learned behaviours may continue to shape the way you feel, respond and relate as an adult. Together, we can gently explore the patterns that may have developed earlier in life and consider whether they are still helping you, or whether they now feel limiting, painful or exhausting.

This is not about blame. It is about understanding yourself with more compassion, building awareness, and creating the possibility of doing things differently.

How I work

In our sessions together, my first priority is to help you feel at ease. I aim to create the trust, safety and consistency needed for meaningful therapeutic work. My approach combines professional expertise with genuine warmth, compassion and curiosity, so that you feel supported as you navigate change at a pace that feels manageable.

I work relationally, which means the therapeutic relationship itself is an important part of the work. Over time, therapy can offer a secure and supportive base where you can explore difficult feelings, understand your responses, and begin to develop a stronger and more compassionate sense of self.

Together, we may explore childhood experiences, relationship patterns, self-esteem, emotional responses, anxiety, boundaries, loss, life transitions or the ways you have learned to cope. Some of these coping strategies may once have helped you get through difficult times, but may no longer serve the adult you are today.

The aim is to support you in becoming more secure within yourself, more confident in your choices, and more able to enjoy healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Areas I can support with

I offer counselling for adults who may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety or overwhelm
  • Low self-esteem or low confidence
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Repeating patterns in relationships
  • Attachment wounds and insecurity
  • Childhood experiences that still feel present
  • Life changes and transitions
  • Emotional difficulties
  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • A desire for personal growth and self-awareness

Therapy can help you understand not only what you are feeling, but why certain responses may make sense in the context of your past experiences. From there, we can begin to build new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Online and face-to-face counselling

I offer both online counselling and face-to-face therapy from my private practice in Lytham, Lancashire.

Online counselling can be a flexible option if you prefer to access therapy from home, while face-to-face sessions may suit you if you are looking for an attachment-based counsellor in Lytham, Lancashire, or nearby areas such as Lytham St Annes, Blackpool, Preston, Kirkham or the Fylde Coast.
